Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Such a hidden gem in Chinatown!! I LOVE their red bean mochi. I used to literally go to NYC trying to find good red bean mochi and now I can get it right here in Philly lol. Everything I’ve tried here is so good and their iced black coffee is amazing too. I’m always craving this place!!

I come here a couple times per month for iced coffee and buns. Recently, we got a birthday cake. The cake was nice, not too sweet. I saw there are some really bad reviews recently. Those are horrifying lol. I will check my buns from now on but I have never personally had anything wrong with mine.

My father in law's nurse brings these for the whole family when he comes over, I love them but I have no idea what they're called. They're so perfectly airy and gently sweet. If the owner sees this, please let me know what the name is!! We love them!!

SO GROSS!!! DO NOT GET ANYTHING HERE!!!!! I got two meat floss buns and two triangle cakes. In one of the triangle cakes, I founded a COCKROACH IN THE CREAM of the cake!!!!??? First of all, how did they pass inspection??!!! And how did they not miss that, continue to seal it up, and served it to customers? I’m so lucky I saw something dark and uncovered the cream and found it before taking a bite! I already ate half of the cake before I saw it and I feel like I’m gonna throw up 🤮. Too bad I live over an hour away and can’t even go back for a refund. Not only that, but it felt like they were rushing me because the lady kept asking what I was getting when I just entered the store and overcharged me. They don’t have prices clearly labeled on everything and compared to the prices they show online, my total should have been $8.50 but she charged me $11. Don’t come here, just go to a different bakery cause I would PAY extra at a different bakery that’s more expensive to not have a cockroach in my food.

10/10 overall, I’ll be coming back here regularly! I discovered this quaint little asian bakery on the sidewalk because I was craving coconut cream buns and I stumbled on this place. First impression— the atmosphere was cozy, warm, nostalgic, and smelled like freshly baked goods. There are so many options here for whatever you’re craving, I saw cakes, buns, moon cakes, tarts, and different kinds of pastries on shelves. To my surprise, I also saw that they sold puto—although I wish they could also sell ube puto, it looked yum. I ended up getting a coconut cream bun, and some sponge cake. The sponge cake was absolutely delightful—fluffy, airy, rich. I liked its slightly eggy flavor. My sister had the coconut cream bun, and I didn’t get to try it because she kept it to enjoy for herself. Judging from her reaction to the bun, the bun must’ve been great… Also, the lady who was working at the front was very kind and funny. She gave great recommendations for what to get— the vast amount of options made it a bit overwhelming to choose, but she was very helpful.
